ECHION
Every article in the knowledge base is written under the name ECHION. Behind that name is the team that builds the platform and runs link building on it.
The team that does the work.
ECHION comes out of twenty years of SEO. We built the platform for our own retainer clients first, because link building across several clients kept ending up in sheets, mail and chat. The articles describe the way of working that came out of that.
They are written by the team and not by one person, so they carry the name of the platform. More about the company is on the about page.
What we write about.
One subject: running link building for several clients at the same time. Within it, the parts we work on every day.
Target pages, sprints and anchors
Which pages get links, in which market, with which anchors, and how that is planned before the first placement.
Publishers, gates and partners
How a publisher is judged, what every placement is checked on and how partners are scored on what they deliver.
Impact and AI citations
What a link did for its target page, and whether a publisher is used as a source in AI answers.
How the articles are made.
From our own practice
An article describes how we work ourselves, on the same platform our clients use.
Only what exists
What we say about the product is how it works today. Plans for later are not presented as features.
Real screens
Screenshots come from the product itself, with client data replaced by examples.
Dated and corrected
Every article shows its publication date. Found a mistake? Mail info@4ap.nl and we correct it.

What AI citation data tells you about a publisher
Classic metrics show how strong a domain is. AI citation data shows whether ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews actually use it as a source. How to read the two together.
Anchor planning across multiple clients
How to keep anchor profiles balanced when several partners build links for the same client at the same time, with one anchor bank per market instead of a sheet per client.
From target page to sprint: planning link building per market
How we turn a list of target pages into sprints per market, each with a link target and a budget, so that progress is visible while there is still time to act.
Judging a publisher once, for every client
Why the judgement on a publisher belongs in one database and not in the head of whoever used it last, and which part of that judgement stays human.
Measuring what a link did
A link going live is delivery, not a result. How we compare the target page before and after publication, and how to read that comparison honestly.
Quality gates: what we check before a link goes live
The checks every placement passes before it reaches the approval queue, why partners see exactly what fails, and why a manager still approves by hand.
Scoring partners on what they delivered
Five measures that show how a link building partner really performs, and why the next sprint should be handed out on results instead of on impression.
Why rejected placements stay on record
A rejected or cancelled placement is information. Why we keep every one of them, with the reason, and what that saves when a client asks about a link from last year.
